![]() Just because you see this as something of "marginal utility" doesnt mean that other people wouldnt like the idea of it.Īlso- for the record- it doesnt sound like the OP wasnt demanding for a new product. Adobe is a huge company that makes bank from people paying for their programs, so there is no reason to defend them as if they dont have the ability to hire people and make improvements on their platforms. I even tried to add a new user. Not sure why you felt the need to respond so rudely when the OP was making a very relevant comment about animation with adobe products. I tried to export half and half of the project and succeeded, and then put the two partially exported files into a new project, and finally managed to hand the job over to the customer.Īs a last ditch effort I reinstalled the OS, but that didn't solve the problem either. So clearly the more complicated project is causing the memory loss. However, if I put the raw files uncut on the timeline, it managed to export them. I have at least 100 GB of storage on both the SSD and HDD. I deleted all unnecessary applications and files, but still no improvement. I deleted chrome completely, then tried to move the master files from HDD to the Mac's SSD, then ran the project itself on the external hard drive and also on the Mac's SSD. ![]() ![]() When I export a more complicated project, I get the message "your system has run out of application memory". I have the same problem as many others here. This is very concerning.įinal Cut Pro Export Fail - MacBook Pro M1 Runs Out of Application Memory Hello! Activity monitor doesn't seem to be effected at all by this. The tested moving an element across the screen, also lags and produces a beachball. Something like adding a marker was INSTANT on my MBP running Catalina. Eventually the tasks get done but they take a while. Seriously, even things like adding marker slows FCP and creates a beachball. I never had such wait times on my MacBook Pro. Even producing a rainbow bouncy ball (on FCPX only, the rest of the computer works perfect even during the FC lags). I've noticed that sharing is so much faster however creating new Libraries and even Projects takes a while. It is upgraded tp BigSur and runs SUPER SMOOTH except for FCPX. I recently purchased a new iMac 5K 2020 with 16BG graphics and I upgraded the RAM to 128GB! I tried splitting it in half as a last resort, and it didn't even get halfway through before crashing again.įinal Cut Pro Slow After Upgrading to BigSur 2020 iMac 5K 128GB RAM 16GB Graphics Hello, I hope your day finds you well. I am no longer able to export longer projects. A lot of the time the Memory Used in the Activity Monitor doesn't surpass the Physical Memory, and the app still crashes. Even when I'm not heavily editing (just simply watching a video before I export) FCP uses up 40-50 GBs. I've heard others have been having issues with this current update. I have all the updates I have restarted my MacBook and deleted the app many of times. ![]() I am currently using a 2020 MacBook Pro with 500 GB of storage and 16 GBs of RAM. When I export to 4k (which is what I always export in) it climbs to over 80 GBs of memory in my Activity Monitor. I thought that the effects or compound clips were the issue, but removing them from my video made no difference in the exponential amount of RAM that it is being taken up. I make YouTube videos weekly and have been getting into more effects. Ever since I've updated FCP, I haven't been able to export my video.
